Boy Bedroom Makeover

Transformers!

My boys room was kind of a mish-mash of a bunch of stuff, we had already done my daughters bedroom and the master bedroom, so when the kids went away for the summer we decided to surprise them with a bedroom makeover!  You can also watch the transformation on my YouTube video!

Here is their room on a bad day.  You can see it is disorganized and they had a hard time putting stuff away in proper places.

(the link to my YouTube video for this room is right here)

They had a set of nice bunk beds, but the layout of the room just didn't flow well, and the room seemed so dark.  We decided to sell the bunk bed and get twin beds instead, this would also double the under-the-bed storage as well.

Here we tried using the 2x4 cube shelf from IKEA, however we realized it was just a tiny bit too big once the bed frames would go in.

We ordered the wall decals off of Ebay, Bumblebee came all the way from the UK!  The little wall shelves that hold books came off of Amazon, and the shelf above the bed is from IKEA.  Oliver already had this batman bedding that is fairly new and the colors went with the scheme well enough so we left it.

My husband made this amazing wall shelf 2 years ago for the boys, it was on the opposite wall before, we thought it worked really well as the centerpiece on this wall.  The boys can easily grab which Transformer they want to play with, and being on the shelf they are less likely to get broken than if they were just tossed in a toy bin.

Everett's favorite Transformer is Bumblebee, his new bedding came from Target.  I made him a new Art Hanger to match the colors of the room better, plus he loves baseball so it is now more his style.
When I was trying to decide how to store Nerf Guns I searched one of my favorite sites, Pinterest!  I saw several of these pegboard style boards.  My husband painted it Optimus Prime Blue and bought some of the pegs from Home Depot and some he had to order.  The boys really like this way of storing the Nerf Guns.  There is a basket underneath for the mounds of rubber bullets (Do you find them ALL. OVER. THE. HOUSE too?)

This is one of the shelves from the corner of their room before, I put it in the closet to hold the rest of their books.  It works really well here.

The boys love their new room!

Also, here is my last cleaning video where I completely transformed the look of my room, just by cleaning and decluttering.
